Megan - The "type A" knitter
I first tried my hand at knitting about 6 or 7 years ago, after my younger brother had knit the cutest little "faux-hawk" hat for my then toddler daughter. At that time I found it to be very frustrating, my stitches were so darn tight that I could barely knit a row and quickly gave it up.
Fast forward to the Fall of 2013, after much prodding by my mother (who seems to drag me along on many of her new crafting adventures); I decided to give knitting another go. I used super bulky yarn to make a bright yellow möbius scarf for one of my stepdaughters. It involved learning both to knit and purl. I'm not sure if she ever did wear that scarf, and I've since learned to recognize whether or not someone is "knit worthy". My other stepdaughter definitely is, she's worn hand knit creations of mine in both Paris, France and in professional head shots that she's had done.
The knit n' purl girls was formed that Fall and we've been meeting bi-weekly ever since. Our Friday gatherings are a time of fellowship, sharing patterns and project ideas and enjoying each other's culinary creations. I know that we all look forward to our knit nights together.

A little bit about me? Christian for as long as I can remember, raised in the church and have no doubt that my God is the Creator of the heavens and earth. Daughter to Kym. Wife to Jerry for many years. Two stepdaughters in their last semester of undergrad school. Mommy to 8yr old Jillian whom we adopted as an infant through foster care, no doubt our personal gift from God. Registered nurse in the NICU. Lifelong traveler and road tripper. Experimental home cook.

And "type A" knitter, meaning I'm all about the project and not the process. I rarely repeat projects. And I rarely allow myself to make mistakes, yeah right! I can't bear to tear out stitches and start over, I'd rather just start a different project. And my stitches are still too tight sometimes. So many patterns, and so little time!
